Hello everyone and welcome to the Greater Manchester Bake-off Challenge! Come and join us for a fun filled culinary experience...Check out the different experience days we have to offer, and see which one excites you the most!
From your favourite Holiday bakes to your signature jaw-droppers, you will have 90 minutes to bake and decorate your creations to impress the judges and win the grand prize!

It's time to get your Christmas bake on! You will get 90 minutes to bake and decorate the Christmas 'Snow-stopper' Gingerbread House. Do you have what it takes to be crowned the Star Baker? You will be provided with instructions, ingredients and equipment. You don't need to bring anything along with you, just be ready to get creative and enjoy yourself!
Soft Drinks will be provided. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Please make us aware about any allergies or dietary requirements before hand. Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. T's & C's apply.*
THE GM BAKE-OFF RULES
Follow these rules to have the best experience...
- Arrive 15 minutes early, the 90 minutes will not wait for any late students.
- Be kind, we are all here to have fun and learn all about cooking.
- Don't panic, we will provide all the ingredients needed.
- Enjoy your cooking at home, you will be given containers to take food away.
- Don't stress, all cooking utensils and equipment will be provided.
- Make sure you study, you will be given a recipe card to replicate your creation at home.
- The prize will be decided by the judges, so be prepared to impress.
- Last and final rule, SMILE AND ENJOY THE EXPERIENCE!
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring people to watch me?
We have a small seating area at the back of the room, however space is limited. If you wish to bring people to watch and not participate then email enquiries@decdough.com before you make your booking.
Do I need to bring anything with me?
Nothing - just your fun, energetic self. We will provide all the ingredients, information and equipment you will need.
I have an allergy, can you cater for me?
We have many different recipes here at the Greater Manchester Bake-off Challenge. We cannot unfortunately guarentee an allergy free environment due to the wide range of ingredients used in The Heys School Kitchen. However we will take as many steps as possible to ensure a safe cooking environemnt; such as new equipment, fully sanitized workspace and allergy free ingredients. Please email enquiries@decdough.com if you would like some more information regarding this.
Can I bring alcoholic drinks with me?
Unfortunately we cannot allow alcoholic drinks on the premesis.
How old do I need to be?
Any age is allowed at the Greater Manchester Bake-off Challenge, however anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult whether thats baking alongside them or supervising them at a 1 child to 1 adult ratio. If you are attending an event as a supervising adult, then you will require only 1 ticket. However, this means you will only bake 1 item which you will bake with your child. When purchasing the ticket, please state your age and your child's age in the applicable booking section.
Is there anywhere to park?
Yes, The Heys School has free parking directly outside the building.
I'm lost, what should I do?
Call Dec on 07305263084 or email enquiries@decdough.com. If you are in The Heys School carpark and cannot find our building, then please ask a member of staff or call Dec and he will come and collect you.
What should I wear to the Bake-off?
There is no specific dress code, however this is a live working kitchen so we recommend sensible and comfortable clothing and shoes as you will be using knifes and operating hot equipment.
I want to book a group, how do I do this?
Email enquiries@decdough.com for more information on group bookings.
